Have you been looking for an easier way to file all of your United States Coast Guard documentation? Does it feel like all of this is just a bit more complicated than it should be? (Or, even a lot more complicated than it should be?) When we first started our business, it was with the idea to make vessel documentation that much easier for vessel owners like you. You shouldn’t have to spend hours at a time worrying about, considering, and then finally completing vessel documentation. We make it easier in multiple ways.

Mobile Optimization

The days of having to sit at home to fill out these documentation forms are over. As we’ve made our site optimized for mobile, you can fill them out anywhere on practically any kind of internet-connected device. So, you can complete your initial documentation form on your tablet while you’re walking through the park. You can file for renewal on your smartphone while you’re in line at the bank. Should someone show up late to a meeting, you can file for an Abstract of Title from your laptop. The possibilities are practically endless.

Rush Processing of Certain United States Coast Guard Documentation Forms

We know that there are certain customers who need their forms as quickly as possible. That’s why we wanted to offer the option to put their documentation at the top of our queue. For an added fee, we can make sure that your forms get into the powers that be that much quicker, so that, consequently, you can get them back that much faster, too.

Renewing Years in Advance in Some Cases

Some forms have to be renewed annually, like the actual documentation itself. So, every year, like clockwork, you have to remember to renew it. Of course, if you renew it too late, you’re in trouble. If you renew it too early, you actually lose money. In our quest to offer our customers better, we’ve made it so that you can renew for years in advance through our site. Should you choose to avail yourself of this, you can renew your documentation for up to five years in advance. That way, you don’t have to worry about it at all for the next half decade. If you’re going to have your vessel for a while (and want one less worry) this can be the right option.

A Staff That’s Ready to Help

If you have questions about vessel documentation, which forms do you need, when do you need them, that kind of thing, we can help. At our site, we have the best staff in the business, ready to answer your questions. However, you don’t have to reach out to us with a phone call for our staff to be able to help. We have document processors who will go through your forms, finding if there are any small typos, errors, or anything of that nature – then, we’ll fix them before we pass them on. For more about how we can help: (866) 981-8783.

Are you in the process of researching a vessel you’re considering purchasing and need sources of information you can implicitly trust? Does it seem like, while there may be plenty of vessel information online, precious little of it is reputable? We know how much of a struggle it can be to find the information you need for a vessel from someone you can rely on. Those are some of the reasons that make it easy to get an Abstract of Title. Here at our American vessel documentation site, you can find out just about anything you would need to know about a vessel from just about anywhere before you buy it.

What the Abstract of Title Offers

With an Abstract of Title, you’re essentially getting the real, true, and uncut history of the vessel. So, you’ll know when it was made, who made it, whether there were significant changes done to the vessel, and so forth. Perhaps even more importantly, you’ll know definitively whether or not it had mortgages and liens against it. Additionally, you’ll know if it currently has mortgages and liens against it, too. That way, you’ll have all of the information in front of you before you make a decision about buying the vessel.

Foreign Vessel Title Search/Transcript of Registry

“That sounds great,” you might be thinking, “but the vessel I’m interested in isn’t in the United States right now.” That’s fine, too. In fact, that’s why we make it easier to get a Foreign Vessel Title Search/Transcript of Registry form, too. More or less, these give you the same information that you would get from an Abstract of Title. But, they can give you that information about vessels currently not in America. As of this writing, you can use these forms to learn more about vessels in Canada, Bermuda, the Bahamas, the Cayman Islands, the UK, and the British Virgin Islands.

Why This Matters

“This vessel is only a couple years old,” the vessel owner might have emailed you. “It’s practically brand new.” You take them at their word, and then you get the Abstract of Title. That document tells you that the vessel is actually five years old and has had several previous owners that you weren’t told about. This document can keep you from getting into a “sticky situation” with a vessel, so to speak.

American Vessel Documentation for Your Vessel Today and Tomorrow

The Abstract of title and the Foreign Vessel Title Search/Transcript of Registry documents can be important, but for many vessel owners, they’re just the beginning of the documentation journey. Once you’ve purchased your vessel, for example, it may be time to get your initial documentation or renew the documentation that’s already there. If you’ve moved or you’ve moved your vessel to a new hailing port, we have the documents for that and so, so much more. If you have any questions, you can head to our site or give us a call.

Did you recently purchase a vessel, know exactly how you want to use it, but are concerned about being in compliance with the powers that be? Are you in the process of filling out your “Initial Vessel Documentation” form and you’re a bit stumped at the part that asks for “Endorsements for Which Application is Made?” USCG documentation forms have jargon all their own. That said, picking the right endorsement is important for making sure that you’re in compliance with authorities in terms of your vessel’s use.

Recreational

This is the endorsement that very much is what it sounds like: you get this when you want to use your vessel for recreation. Hanging out, having a good time, partying with friends, taking family on boat rides around the lake – that’s all the kind of thing you can do with the “Recreational” endorsement. Bear in mind, though: when you have this endorsement, you can’t use your vessel for anything else. But, if you have one of the other endorsements, you can always use your vessel for recreation.

Fishery and Coastwise

Do you plan on engaging in commercial fishing on the navigable waters of the United States? Have you set your eyes on fishing (or transporting fish) in the “Exclusive Economic Zone?” (That idea of which is, more or less, about two hundred miles or so off of the coast of the United States.) If that’s the case, then you want to get the “Fishery” endorsement. However, if you plan on transporting people, goods, or other kinds of cargo in those same waters, then the “Coastwise” endorsement is what you’re looking for.

Registry and Change

“How can there be a ‘Registry’ endorsement if I’ve got my vessel registered?” We’ve heard some version of that question many times in the past. The truth is that “Registry” actually refers to vessels that are going to be primarily used for foreign trade. It’s important to choose the right endorsement. However, you can decide to alter them if you would like. Perhaps you wake up one day and realize that your vessel could do much more good for you carrying people as opposed to fish. If that’s the case, then you can use the “Change of Endorsement/Trade Indicator” form at our site.

All the USCG Documentation Forms You’ll Need

“But why do folks get the ‘Recreational’ endorsement?” That’s another common question. While many different vessel owners will have several different reasons, perhaps the most common one is: so that they can get a mortgage on the vessel. A strong majority of banks and lenders won’t offer financing for a vessel that isn’t documented. Of course, you can find all of the forms for that at our site as well. From the initial documentation through renewal, all of the mortgage ones and beyond, you can find all of the forms you’ll need for the course of vessel ownership right here. We can answer any of your questions at (866) 981-8783.

Are you currently looking for vessel documentation forms but you can’t quite find the ones you need? Or, alternatively, have you found the forms, but wish there was somewhere (or someone) who could answer just a question or two? We believe that vessel documentation shouldn’t be a headache or even a chore for vessel owners, but something easy they can do quickly and get on with their day. We not only offer the National Vessel Documentation Center forms for the course of vessel ownership, but we have many ways of helping you to complete them, too.

National Vessel Documentation Center Forms for Registration and Renewal

If your vessel measures five net tons or more, and you’re going to use it in certain situations (or for certain reasons) then you’re going to want to get it documented. You can do that at our site. Beyond that, you can renew that documentation at our site, too. In fact, you can renew it for up to five years in advance. That way, you give yourself one less thing to worry about moving forward. As we’ve made sure our site is mobile-optimized, you can complete these forms from just about anywhere, so long as you’re connected to the internet.

Forms for Your Mortgage

Many of the vessel owners who use our site to document their vessels aren’t engaged in fisheries, coastwise trade, or trade of any kind. They just want to get financing for their vessels. Indeed, most banks and lenders won’t provide any financing for your vessel unless it’s been documented. So, we offer forms to help you get set up with a Preferred Ship’s Mortgage. Additionally, once you’ve paid that (or any liens) off, we have forms for that, too. Now, to be totally in compliance, you should speak to a lawyer and/or finance professional. We only provide the forms as well as an easy way to fill them out and send them in.

Forms for Life Changes

When your life changes, your documentation may have to change with it. For example, if you move, then you need to send in a “Change of Address” form. Should you bring on a new owner to your vessel (or take one off) we have forms for that, as well. Wherever your life’s journey may take you, you can find the corresponding vessel documentation right here at our site.

Forms for the Journey of Vessel Ownership and Beyond

Vessel documentation is not something that most vessel owners look forward to completing, to put it mildly. At our site, we aim to make it something that no vessel owner has to dread in the slightest. Beyond that, we provide real resources that can help vessel owners. For example, we have document processors who can go through your forms, making sure that there are no typos or even tiny errors. To see everything that we have to offer vessel owners like you, head to our site. Additionally, if you have questions, you could give us a call.

Have you recently completed your initial USCG documentation and want to make sure that you don’t fall out of compliance? Does it feel like it’s been too long since you renew your documentation and are beginning to worry? These are common, logical concerns. At our site, we do everything in our power to make it easy to acquire your US Coast Guard documentation numbers, but we also know that when that process is over, no matter how simple and easy, you don’t want to have to go through it again. To that end, we offer many different ways to help you stay in compliance.

If You Don’t Renew Your Documentation

Your documentation is valid for one year. To stay in compliance, it needs to be renewed before the “expiration month” ends the following year. (So, if you renewed in July, then you need to renew it by the end of July the next year.) But, if you don’t renew your documentation in time, there is still hope. At our site, we offer “reinstatement” services. Through this, you can hang on to your numbers as well as your documentation. But, you only use “reinstatement” if the “renewal” deadline has already passed.

If You Lose Your Certificate of Documentation

Not all vessel owners are aware of this, but you need to have an actual, physical copy of your Certificate of Documentation. In our modern, digital era, many feel that they can get away with a picture on their phone, in the cloud, and so forth. However, that’s not the case. If you don’t have a physical Certificate of Documentation, then you aren’t in compliance with the powers that be. Should yours become lost, destroyed, or mutilated, as you might imagine, this is a very real concern. We make it possible to get a replacement certificate easily.

If an Owner Moves on From Your Ownership Group

Own a vessel long enough, and you’ll go through many different experiences. These won’t be limited to what occurs just on the water, either. You may bring new owners onto your vessel ownership group. Alternatively, some may move on from owning your vessel. Should either of these occur, we make it possible to stay in compliance when ownership changes. This is just one of the many life changes that we can assist with in terms of documentation.

Getting Your US Coast Guard Documentation Numbers and More

Of course, to be able to hang onto your documentation, you need to get it in the first place. You can do that at our site. Moreover, as we’ve made our site mobile-optimized, you can do that from just about anywhere, too, on any device. The very best document processors are on our staff, so that you never have to worry about typos or misspellings keeping you from your documentation. To see our entire catalog of forms available, you can head to our site. If you’d like help with any of these, just give us a call.

Have you paid off the mortgage on your vessel and aren’t sure what the next step is? Or, alternatively, are you looking to file to get financing for your vessel in the first place? We know how confusing getting a mortgage on your vessel can be. That’s just one of the reasons that we offer the forms you’ll need to stay in compliance with the powers that be. When the time is right, you can file for a mortgage lien release and so much more right here.

Preferred Ship’s Mortgage: the Preferred Way to Get a Ship’s Mortgage for Years

Is it time to apply for a mortgage on your vessel? If so, then click on the “Pref. Ship Mortgage” form at our site. One thing to keep in mind: we run a vessel documentation site and not a bank. We’re not lawyers, we can’t give legal advice, or anything like that. So, we can’t tell you whether or not the mortgage is on the level, going to happen, and so forth. What we can do is to make it easier for you to access and complete this form, which will then be promptly sent to the proper authorities.

Mortgage Lien Release: For When You Pay It Off

You’ve probably heard this before, but there’s a very old saying about vessel ownership. It goes something like: “the two best days owning a vessel are the day you buy it and the day you sell it.” That’s a bit droll, but we would add that the third “best day” would be the day that you pay off the mortgage. For many, this is the moment when the vessel is truly “their’s,” free and clear. Should you have done such a thing, you can file for this here. Too.

To Qualify for Financing in the First Place

Of course, to get a mortgage in the first place, you have to document your vessel. Indeed, a strong majority of banks and other lenders won’t even offer a mortgage if your vessel isn’t first documented. While that may sound a bit intimidating, it isn’t supposed to be. We make it easy to fill out the initial documentation and then receive it quickly. Additionally, you can renew it quickly through our site as well.

An Easier Way to File All of These Forms

We understand that for many folks, no matter how they use their vessel, the idea of sitting in front of their home computer filling out vessel documentation forms is not their idea of time well spent. So, we made sure that our site is “optimized for mobile.” That means that you can fill out these forms from practically anywhere and on any device, so long as you’re connected to the internet. Additionally, if you have any questions about these forms or even want something to walk you through them, step by step, we have a highly-trained and qualified staff on hand. You can reach them at (866) 981-8783.
